Cathy is a powerful teller of tales. She is a regular performer
at Aberdeen Storytelling Festival and Aberdeen University WORD
festival. She's told stories in castles, hospitals, arts centres,
retirement homes and at weddings, funerals, parties and on hillsides.
She has also worked for the BBC and was recently Storytelling
Fellow in Aberdeen, working closely with schools to place storytelling
in the primary curriculum
Guests
can arrange a story session with Cathy. Bedtime stories or afternoon
tales by the fire or in the garden are very popular and can
be told in French, German or Doric (the local Scottish dialect),
as well as in English. In return for these stories, Cathy asks
for a donation to the Schoolhouse Sri Lanka fund (please click
below for more information).
Guests
researching their genealogy will be particularly delighted with
tales from Scotland, which bring the past alive and give the
listener an insight into the lives of their ancestors. A more
extended storytelling and guiding input is available and Schoolhouse
can arrange for family history research to be carried out prior
to arrival.
