The great outdoors and nature are all around and there are many ways to enjoy it.

From river walks to steep icy crags, from wild Glen Muick to beautiful Cambus O' May, there's plenty to keep guests of all ages enjoyably occupied. Many choose to make Schoolhouse a base for their holiday and Alan and Cathy are very happy to advise on an itinerary of visits and activities. The local tourist information centre also stocks a wealth of information.

The beautiful Ballater golf course is a few minutes stroll from Schoolhouse. Some of Scotland's best walking, mountaineering, mountain biking, golfing, gliding, horse riding, and fishing is in the area. It's possible to hire equipment and excellent tuition is available.
